Rampart Beat Fane 4-1 At Auto Assure Park
Rampart Celtic made it 3 games unbeaten on the trot, with an impressive victory over League leaders Fane, inflicting a first defeat of the league campaign on them.
After a scoreless first half, it took just 7 mins into the second period for Stephen McQuillan put Fane ahead with his 3rd goal in two games. Within two minutes Aidan Lines with his first if the season doubled the lead. Ger Collins from the penalty spot replied for Fane in the 51st minute. But almost immediately Aidan McGuiness with a powerful header restored Ramparts 2 goal cushion. Following this score Liam McDonagh the Fane keeper had to retire injured, being replaced by outfield player Andrew Lennon. On 70 mins Aidan McGuiness made it 4-1 to Rampart, finishing off a set piece.
Further injuries reduced Fans to 10 men for the last 10 mins, having used all their substitutes. Ciaran Pickering’s charges have really blown the title race wide open.
