Fane FC beats Muirhevna Mor FC 4-2 last night in the DDL 2019 League to go 3 points clear at the top of the table.

Fane F.C. went 3 points clear at the Premier League after a thrilling 4-2 win away to Muirhevnamor. Starman for Fane was hat-trick hero Chad McEneaney who brought his seasons tally to 12 goals. After 10 minutes he headed in from close range, repeating the same 13 minutes later to put Fane 2-0 up, a lead they took into the break. The home side had Precious Kenth in goals to thank that they were not blown away out of sight due to some outstanding saves.

Kaylem Mulligan rifled in to make it 2-1 after 53 mins, but within 10 mins James Coyle had restored Fanes two-goal cushion. Shortly after Muirhevnamor were reduced to 10 men having a player sent off. Despite this they rallied, a Cody Mc Areavey cross being headed home by Matthew Egan to leave them trailing 3-2.

Both sides playing excellent football it was anyone’s game until mins from time Chad McEneaney completed his trio of goals to wrap up the points for the League Leaders. Both sides are to be congratulated for serving up a wonderful exciting match in front of a fine crowd.

Players to catch the eye were Chad McEneaney, who was presented with the April Player of the Month award by Dundalk captain Brian Gartland, which is sponsored by Defy Sports Apparel, and Ger Collins of Fane, along with Craig Dixon, Kaylem Mulligan and Cody McAreavey of Muirhevnamor.
