This 11 goal thriller had everything to entertain the large crowd in Clancy Park. Five mins into the game Conor Soraghan headed Rock into the lead. Minutes later Conor Keelan had Quay level, lobbing the keeper from an acute angle. Des Delaney restored Rocks advantage scoring from close range on the 15th minute. Quay were level again when Robbie Mackin lobbed David Hayes in the 25th minute. On the half hour mark Des Delaney scores from the spot after Quay defender was sent off for doing the goalkeepers job.The Rock turned over with a 3-2 lead and it took some heroic goalkeeping by Quays Conor Black to prevent them from building an unbeatable advantage.
The introduction of substitute Ronan Cunningham for the home-side saw the fleet footed winger score a superb hattrick in the space of 15 mins to put Quay 5-3 ahead with 13 minutes left to play but a header from Conor Fee ignited a Rock come back. With time almost up Alan Breen drew the seasiders level at 5 goals apiece. Right on the 90th min Niall Smith struck the winner in a truly great match.
This win maintain the Sandy lane outfit unbeaten League record and lifted them 3rd place in the table 2 points behind the leaders. Dispite the big scoreline both goalkeepers brought off some marvellous saves and outfield Ronan Cunningham quick-fire hatrick, made them the stars of a memorable game.
