Rampart Celtic beat Glenmuir United 4-1.
Rampart Celtic moved into joint third place in the League with a hard earned win over Glenmuir, coming from 1-0 down at the halfway mark. A sumptuous
free kick from 25 yard out by Paddy Nicholson put Glenmuir ahead in the 12th minute. Rampart almost got on level terms but Aidan McGuinness’s header was cleared off the line. Just prior to the break Ciaran Sheridan was denied by the upright from giving the Glems a 2-0 half-time lead.
Three minutes into the second period, Stephen McQuillan equalised for Rampart to ignite a sterling comeback which saw Eedris Akinade head home a corner kick to put Rampart 2-1 up in the 50th minute. With the play swinging from end to end. Akinade was taken down in the box in the 80th minute and Lee Wright put away the spot kick to extend Ramparts lead, with 5 minutes remaining Stephen McQuillan from 35 yards out found the Glenmuir net to complete a 4-1 victory for the Clancy Cup holders.
