Quay Celtic Draw 1-1 With Muirhevnamor F.C. / Fane FC beat Glenmuir FC 7-0
Quay Celtic followed their Quarterfinal Clancy Cup win over Glenmuir with a hard earned draw against Muirhevnamor, to collect their first league point of the season. In the driving rain, Damien Killeen gave the host the lead in the first half, which they took into the break. A Kaylam Mulligan strike in the second half brought the sides level. Neither side could fashion a winner before referee Brian Murphy brought damp proceedings to an end. Muirhevnamor moved into joint second in the League alongside Rock Celtic, both two points adrift of Fane F.C.
Fane F.C. made it three wins from three League games to go three points clear at the top of the table. Leading goalscorer, Chad McEneaney opened the scoring after 9 mins, chipping the keeper before netting from an acute angle . Sean Kelleghers doubled Fanes advantage on 27 mins and just before the break Ger Collins made it 3-0 with a screamer of a free kick from distance. Glenmuir suffered a double blow early in the second half in the space of 2 mins, Chad McEneaney struck for his second of the match, quickly followed by an unstoppable shot from Micky Cross to leave the Glens trailing by 5-0. Liam McDonagh the Fane keeper made a couple if fine saves to deny the visitors getting on the scoresheet. Jordan Mackin in the Glenmuir nets was unable to prevent McEneaney completing his second hat-trick of the season as he brought the scoring to an end.Players to stand out were Sean Kellegher, Chad McEneaney and Damien Bond for Fane and Jordan Mackin along with Danny Mullin for Glenmuir.
