In a very entertaining league match which saw both sides play excellent flowing football, the ageless Derek Delaney gave Rock a slender 1-0 lead going into the second half.

Six minutes into second period the home side give away a penalty which allowed Shane McAvinney being Bellurgan level from a well taken spot kick. Midway through the second half Rick took the lead once more, Barry O’Hare finishing off a splendid Rock move, with the play swinging from end to end each side created chances but it was Bellurgan who drew level when Shane O’Brians shot came back off the upright and was tapped home by Tadgh O’Connor, a just reward for the battling visitors who had been reduced to 10 men after a sending off. This result leaves Rock in third place along with Bellurgan. Players to impress were Paul Scanlon, Derek Delaney and Barry O’Hare of Rock Celtic and Kevin Rogan, Shane O’Brian June player of the month and Shane McAvinney for Bellurgan.
