Redeemer Celtic opened a 6 point gap at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory in an obsorbing contest with Rock Celtic. Heroic goalkeeping by Paul Scannlan in the Rocks nets kept the visitors at bay and his efforts were rewarded in the 34th minute of the first half when Derek Delaney fired home a right wing cross to put the home side ahead. The ever dangerous Ryan McDonald drew Redeemer level in the 45th minute with a powerful shot from distance.
As the second half wore on Redeemer gradually got on top, the crossbar denying them the lead in the 70th minute. Thomas Daly with his 9th goal of the season in the 84th minute put the league leaders ahead and 3 minute later the seasiders gave away a penalty which Conor Mackin dispatched to seal a 3-1 win. Mark Og O’Brian in the visitors nets along with Conor Mackin and Ryan McDonald stood out for the victors while Paul Scannlan, Paddy Reilly and Derek Delaney battled hard for the home side.
